Congregations Building Community (CBC) is an interfaith, non-profit grassroots organization that works to empower marginalized communities throughout Stanislaus County to create policy changes in the areas of education, immigration, access to healthcare and violence.
Since 2003, we have supported the development of over 10,000 families across the county by providing them leadership tools and opportunities to change local, state, and federal policy.
CBC leaders have engaged in multiple civic engagement campaigns that have led to the passage of Proposition 30 in 2012, funding schools and Proposition 47 2014, reallocation of funds for schools rather than prisons.
CBC is one of nineteen PICO National Network member organizations in California. PICO is a faith-based non-profit institute serving Congregations/Community local affiliates throughout the United States.
